Robert Burlington is a founder of the firm and is also its managing director. In his more than 25 years of practice he has litigated and tried to completion a wide variety of both jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts. These cases include business torts, commercial and real estate contract disputes, securities transactions, class actions, as well as all aspects of state and federal employment litigation. In 1995 he successfully defended and secured the only acquittal of a central figure in one of the nation’s most notorious savings and loan failures. He has built his practice by assisting clients in formulating cost-effective litigation strategies and providing outstanding and responsive service.

Mr. Burlington has maintained an active leadership role in continuing legal education, having chaired and served on many Florida Bar CLE programs, and has authored and lectured on commercial and business litigation topics. He authored and co-authored chapters in several texts on civil remedies and employment discrimination. He has consistently been voted by his peers as one of Florida’s Top Lawyers in an annual survey conducted by The South Florida Legal Guide. Major law firms and lawyers frequently engage him to serve as a mediator or arbitrator in complex matters.

In addition to his trial and appellate practice, Mr. Burlington's leadership is apparent in Florida’s business and civic communities. He serves on the Metro-Dade Police Citizens Advisory Board, Florida Highway Safety Board, Chairman of Friends for the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Jimmy Ryce Center Advisory Board.
