Gabriel Groisman

Gabriel Groisman is a shareholder with the firm practicing trademark law, complex commercial litigation, international compliance counseling and international commercial law. He has been with the firm since 2006, was named a partner on January 1, 2012 and a shareholder on January 1, 2015.  Mr. Groisman represents a diverse set of clients in disputes related to real estate, trademark, copyright, defamation, breach of contract, employment,  business torts, and compliance work related to anti-bribery and anti-money laundering laws.  He also heads the firm's trademark prosecution team, managing clients' trademark rights worldwide.  Mr. Groisman is also very involved in the local community, giving of his time to various charities, political organizations and religious institutions.

Mr. Groisman also serves as Mayor of Bal Harbour, Florida.

Representative Experience

  • Provided counsel to numerous international companies regarding the implementation of anti-corruption policies and procedures, in a variety of industries and to companies operating in countries all over the world.
  • Successfully defended Duty Free Americas, in a $250 million dollar antitrust lawsuit filed in federal court in New Jersey.
  • Successfully tried a case on behalf of a Spanish cosmetics distributor, which resulted in a $5.34 million award in favor of his client. This award was obtained less than twelve months after filing the arbitration.
  • Successfully represented a liquor company in trademark infringement suit with a winery using a confusingly similar trademark.
  • Provided counsel to Panamanian wholesale company to set up an in-depth anti-money laundering policy.
  • Obtained summary judgment dismissal in federal employment discrimination suit on behalf of several parties including the French fashion house, Christian Lacroix, S.N.C., in federal court in Houston, Texas.
  • Successfully represented 5 African-American former employees of a multi-national hotel chain in an employment discrimination suit, which was resolved with a very favorable settlement on the eve of trial.
